Too many dudes dominating the podcasting conversation

Suzy's production workflow & tech
Thanks to network latency the video quality is . . . absolutely terrible. I captured this with OBS while connected to CAT-6 ethernet with about 400mb/s down. The audio is fine, though, so it's a perfect thing to play in the background while trying out a new recipe discovered via a Suzy Chase podcast. Or Minecraft. Minecraft is always an option.
The video was recorded with OBS and edited in Reaper.
Audacity Video from 02/2021 (KC Podcasting Meetup)
Members of the Kansas city Podcasting Meetup Group were asking for an editing software demo session and I was in the process of moving my production workflow from Audacity to Reaper, so I put together the presentation embedded below.
I'd become something of an Audacity power user, but eventually came to realize that most of my skillz were about working around Audacity's limitations. The turning point came when I painted myself into a corner with a lot of destructive editing and not enough backups to fix everything, resulting in about twenty hours of lost work. Like I said in the video, it was heartbreaking. I haven't returned to that project since. After investigating the alternatives I decided that Reaper had the most bang for the buck, due in no small part to the fact the same audio editing workflow also works for editing video.
In the future I plan to release several how-to videos showing how tasks in Audacity are performed in Reaper to assist other audio producers in transitioning to a true DAW.
The video was recorded with OBS and edited in Reaper. The presentation software is a web app I created specifically for this session, but could pretty easily adapted to work with other types of presentations. It's another example of it being faster for me to make my own tools than it is to figure out how to use someone else's.

Welcome to podchatter.com!
Heya -- I'm Anthony. This is the initial post. It's very exciting!
I'm going to try to create a self-hosting platform for podcasts from scratch and document all of the lessons learned as a weekly podcast. It's possible that one day this project will become publicly-available for podcasters to use as both an open-source, DIY platform as well as a commercial, turn-key service.
At launch the site is just raw HTML, CSS and JavaScript running from a bare-bones, hand-rolled Node API. As you might have noticed I haven't even intstalled the Oxford Comma plugin (And I likely won't. It doesn't exist. It's a joke and so is the Oxford comma). I'm going to be adding my own site and download analytics, as well as implementing as much of the Podcasting 2.0 namespace as makes sense. I'm also going to attempt to align with the OPAWG download analytics guidelines. Maybe they'll let me join as a member.
There's a ton of work to be done. I need to build a CMS. I need to build a podcast uploader. I need to build a robust RSS feed editor and manager. I need to build both site and download analytics. I need to package the whole thing in a distributable format. I probably need to build dynamic ad-insertion tools (hello, Python). I really want to add conferencing and editing tools to let podcasters collaborate, record and produce entirely online. I might even add support for micropayments via cryptocurrency. And yeah, I'll have to make my own mobile apps. Fortunately I have a little bit of a head start with this.
And, of course, I'll have to add something that reproduces Clubhouse's core functionality, becuse that's now table stakes for anything podcast-related on the internet (mostly joking).
If you have any feedback, I'd suggest connecting with me on Twitter
